Windows Recovery Mode Doesn’t Recognize System Partition

If you are running with VMware environment and patch your Windows Server regulary, sometimes when you got an issue and requires your to rollback the last patch. How you are gonna do to resolve the case? Yes, that’s right! You will need to boot into recovery mode either by in-built feature which available on Windows 2k12 an later or you can boot with CD/DVD or ISO of the Windows itself.

Nevertheless, default setting of storage control does not allow you to recognize the partition if you boot into recovery mode.

Default SCSI Controller Type

Unfortunately i did not capture the command prompt result. So, what i did just change the controller type to VMware Paravitual and re-attempt to boot from ISO.

Eventually my partition is recognized as seen on below snapshot.

C: Partition is recognized

Please bare in mind to take snapshot prior this action just in case.

Use at your own risk, Buddy!!
