I remember when i was a kid play this game on the arcade device together with my friend at mall (because on that time having a device game is so expensive). But it was only ordinary 2D adventure game presented by Lee’s family, Billy and Jimmy.

Then the problem comes up with my usb controller, definitely my Logitech Cordless Rumblepad 2, which can’t detected as Joystick. Playing this game without joystick is really difficult even can caused my lovely keyboard into broken pieces. So, why this problem can happen? I think it is because that game not fully supported with input standard DirectInput instead Xinput which provided old technology controller as well as major compability for whole old games.

If you have a new wireless joystick product from Logitech, F710, it doesn’t need to do anything. Just switch the input button on the joystick to whatever input do you want, whether Xinput or DirectInput. Easy, isn’t it?

So, how to solve this?

First, please download an application called X360 Controller Emulator (x360ce) here. Download the App also the Library that match your OS architecture (x86/x64). If you unable to download via Google Code page, please reach through this link. Then extract all the files into one folder.

Second, put the App and the DLL files which you want tou use either dinput/xinput into the Program files of the game. For first use, you’ll ask to make new configuration which is produce the .ini file. This .ini configuration consist all of your gamepad buttons setting.

Third, if you already finish setting the button, it’s time to try the game. Open the Double Dragon game then choose options -> controller. Now, you should see it can recognize the gamepad. Choose your gamepad and try to play the game.

Happy playing!

A few months ago I bought very classic game which is reproduced with newly digital artistic concept, Blue and Red heroes, Double Dragon: Neon.
