It&#8217;s a bug actually and the permanent fixing is only to patch the vCenter using the latest one. For particular cases, it might impacted for backup process as well for certain 3rd party backup tools.<\/p>\n<p>As you can seen on figure below, I have a VM reside on protected site and showing &#8220;flower mark&#8221; which indicated protected by Managed SRM. Eventough this does not affected the VM itself but we have to resolved it since this very unusual.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2398\" src=\"https:\/\/rachmadona.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/jktcmp01.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"115\" height=\"28\" \/><\/p>\n<p>But, don&#8217;t worry. You don&#8217;t have to upgrade it just in case for interim solution, but you can used following trick to resolve the problem.<\/p>\n<p>Download the script provided by VMware here. <a href=\"https:\/\/rachmadona.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/ManagedBy.zip\">ManagedBy<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Put on your local folder then open the PowerCLI. You may to install it prior continue this\u00a0 activity. Locate the script then follow steps below:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Connect to vCenter, provide your admin credential<\/li>\n<li>Type command &#8220;$hmsVms = .\\ManagedBy.ps1 -Cmd getVms -extKey &#8220;com.vmware.vcDr&#8221;&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>Type &#8220;$hmsVms&#8221; it produces all VMs which have error should showing<\/li>\n<li>Type &#8220;.\\ManagedBy.ps1 -Cmd Clear -VMs $hmsVms&#8221; to remove the &#8220;flower mark&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>Check the result by typing again &#8220;$hmsVms&#8221;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Steps above in figure.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-2402\" src=\"https:\/\/rachmadona.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/connect-to-vcenter-300x48.jpg\" alt=\"connect to vcenter\" width=\"300\" height=\"48\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Get the problematic VMs<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-2403\" src=\"https:\/\/rachmadona.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/hms-300x11.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"11\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-2404\" src=\"https:\/\/rachmadona.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/listed-vms-300x131.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"131\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Cleaning in progress<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-2405\" src=\"https:\/\/rachmadona.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/cleaning-managed-by-300x30.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"30\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Voila!
